Melbourne has reaffirmed its status as Australia's premier student city following the release of QS's 2025 Best Student Cities Ranking.

The QS Best Student Cities index evaluates cities based on affordability, quality of life, university standards, and diversity. Melbourne's rise to the top spot in the Student Mix indicator, which measures on-campus diversity, is particularly noteworthy. This achievement is reflected in the state's impressive enrollment figures, with 287,000 international students from approximately 175 countries choosing to study in Victoria. Furthermore, Melbourne ranks second in the Student View indicator, which assesses student experience across various categories, including tolerance and inclusion, transport, affordability, nightlife, and employment opportunities.

Tim Pallas, Victoria's Minister for Economic Growth, said: "It's no surprise Melbourne has once again proven to be Australia's top destination for international students. With unmatched education opportunities, a world-class cultural scene, and an inclusive community, we've cemented our position on the global stage."
