UNSW Sydney produces strong showing in 2024 global subject rankings

UNSW Sydney has been recognised among the world's top universities for 47 subjects in the 2024 QS World University Rankings by Subject.

Six UNSW subjects have secured spots in the global top 20, while 19 are ranked within the top 50. This marks a significant achievement for the institution, highlighting its broad academic excellence and global standing.

Among these rankings, Mineral & Mining Engineering stands out as UNSW's highest-ranked subject, now placed third worldwide, up from its fourth position in 2023. Additionally, UNSW has achieved the number one ranking in Australia for ten subjects, including Civil & Structural Engineering, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Mechanical, Aeronautical & Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Sciences, Mathematics, Accounting & Finance, Business & Management Studies, and Marketing.

UNSW Vice-Chancellor and President Attila Brungs said: "This year’s results again reflect our strong global reputation among employers and the academic community.

“This reputation is borne out of our efforts to develop new knowledge and educate skilled graduates who can use that knowledge to have impact on the most significant challenges facing society.”
